OBRAS, by Néstor
Benito. Works: "Argentine Suite"by
Eduardo Falú; "The Pampas Suite"
and " Red Soil Dances" by José
Franchini. Production: Melopea. CD format.
It
is difficult to find in the local CD
production, a disc that encompasses so
varied and interesting a proposal. On the
one side, the excellence of the playing
of such a guitarist as Néstor Benito,
and on the other, the successful choice
of works to perform.
The
"Argentine Suite" by Falú,
find here another great interpreter to
emphasize its clear concept.
Be
it in the " Style", to dwell on
one fragment of the work, where the
strings find a moving causeway and
Benito's hands play with crisp
sensitivity.
Franchini's
work have underniably a "gaucho"
feeling and the guitar manifests itself
with absolute pain, some works magnifying
the presence of solitude even further.
The "Milonga" of the "The
Pampas Suite" is clear example.
This
young instrumentalist, who has already
opened his international path, has
provided the local CD market with
invaluable material in this release.
Néstor
Benito should not be privy to much
greater space within communication

| For 10 strings |
| Aiqué has just presented
the last recording of the renowned
Argentine classical guitarist, Néstor
Benito, with a completely folk oriented
choice: works by Franchini, by Benito
himself and by Eduardo Falú. Benito was
born in 1956 and toured widely in
Germany, France, the United States and
various other countries. His
own compositions have been heard that the
Teatro Colón. A particular facet of this
instrumentalist: he plays on a 10-string
guitar, which allows the sound to be
bigger than the sound of a normal 6-string
guitar.
Besides, it allows for the
playing of works originally composed for
lute and widens the field in contemporary
repertoire.
A guitar such as this was
used in the 60s by the Spanish
Maestro, Narciso Yepes. Benito owns his
own 10-string guitar since 1981.

| This consecratred
instrumentalist who has performed at the
Colón, the Coliseo, the San Martín,
amongst other important concert halls,
uses a 10 - string guitar, identical to
that created in 1964 by Narciso Yepes,
which allows for a far wider range of
sounds. Benito's technique
in admirable, and in this CD he displays
it exquisitely, both in his own
compositions, as well as in others by José
Franchini and folk composer, Eduardo Falú.

| "In this excellent
version of the "Argentine Suite"
for solo guitar, Néstor Benito faces the
interpretation of works for guitar by
Argentine composers, something that is
happening in the European guitar world,
in which guitarists feel great attraction
for the particular rhythms, color and
phrasing of our varied local music
spectrum. Then
continue, Benito, with your firm
commitment to paint your world to make it
universal, with your Art and your Guitar."

| He came on stage under a
closed applause and left with an ovation
after performing three works as encores. Néstor
Benito again showed that, besides being a
distinguished and prominent 10-string
guitarist, has a temperament, which
allows him to project each of his
readings with enormous strength to his
audience.
We believe that the great
Maestro, Narciso Yepes, has found in Néstor
Benito his true successor.

service of Argentine music |
Student of Narciso Yepes and
Pedro Herz, the guitarist Néstor Benito
has developed an intense work like
instrumentalist, composer for the guitar
and promoter of the guitaristic art in
Argentina, by Europe and Latin America.
Benito authenticated the pleasant impact
that their interpretations obtain before
listening, particularly by the singular
strings of their instrument, with ten
strings instead of the six traditional
ones, and to point its attention towards
the music of its Argentina birthday. |

| Thanks to the support of the

another virtuous guitarist participated
in the festival: Néstor Benito, that was

complexity of the works that touched,
representative of contemporary Argentine

that Franchini dedicated to him: The
Pampas Suite, Red Soil Dances and Melody.
It continued with his correspondence
